Shakira Shines during 2021 International Holstein Show
MADISON, WIS. – Erbacres Snapple Shakira-ET, owned by Ferme Jacobs, Ty-D Holsteins, Theraulaz, Ferme Antelimarck, and C & F Jacobs of Cap-Sante, Quebec, Canada, was named Grand Champion Female of the International Holstein Show on Saturday, October 2 at World Dairy Expo®. With this title, Shakira returned to Canada with the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy and the $1,000 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Cash Award. The newly classified EX-97 cow claimed titles as the first-place Six-Year-Old & Older Cow and Senior Champion on her way to Grand Champion. The Reserve Senior Champion, Oakfield Solom Footloose-ET, also received Reserve Grand Champion honors for owners Duckett Holsteins, Vierra Dairy and Abbott of Rudolph, Wis.
The pair of Senior-Three-Year-Old Cows who received Intermediate Champion and Reserve Intermediate Champion were Oak-Ridge-K Gchip Turbo and Heritagegrd Highoctane Cabaret, respectively. Turbo was exhibited by Ransom Rail and MilkSource Genetics, LLC of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Cabaret was exhibited by Elmvue Farm of Johnstown, New York.
Ms Rebas Raven Beauty-ET was selected as Junior Champion for exhibitors, Glamourview-Iager & Walton of Walkersville, Maryland. Reserve Junior Champion honors were awarded to Blondin Denver Svalantini, exhibited by B J Enright, Ferme Jacobs, Quality Holsteins of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. The champions were the first-place Fall Heifer Calf and Winter Yearling Heifer, respectively.
Premier banners in the International Holstein Show went to the pair who exhibited the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Cows. Ferme Jacobs of Cap-Sante, Quebec, Canada claimed Premier Breeder while Duckett Holsteins of Rudolph, Wisconsin took home Premier Exhibitor. The Premier Sire of the show was Croteau LesPerron Unix-ET. In the heifer show, the Premier Exhibitor banner was awarded to Reyncrest Farm of Corfu, New York while Premier Breeder was presented to Ferme Petitclerc of St. Basile, Quebec, Canada. Premier Sire of the Heifer Show was Brenland Denver.
Placing a total of 394 animals in the International Holstein Show were official judge, Mike Berry of Powell Butte, Oregon, and associate judge, Tom DeGroot of Rosedale, British Columbia, Canada.
