Everybody Cut Footloose for the International Holstein Show
MADISON, WIS. – Oakfield Solom Footloose-ET, owned by Duckett Holsteins, Vierra Dairy and Tim & Sharyn Abbott of Rudolph, Wisconsin, was named Grand Champion Female of the International Holstein Show at World Dairy Expo®. With this title, Footloose received the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy and the $1,000 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Cash Award. Footloose claimed titles as the first-place Five-Year-Old Cow and Senior Champion on her way to Grand Champion. The Intermediate Champion, Blondin Unstopabu Maple-Red, also received Reserve Grand Champion honors for owners R&F Livestock, K Doeberiener, L Bowen and W Schilling of West Salem, Ohio.
The winning Four-Year-Old Cow, Oak-Ridge K Gchip Turbo, received Reserve Senior Champion honors and was exhibited by Milk Source and Ransom-Rail, Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Reserve Intermediate Champion was Ms Crushabull Carolina-ET, exhibited by Jim Butler of Chebanse, Illinois
Junior Champion honors went to the winning Winter Yearling Heifer, Kingsway Alligator A Twix, exhibited by Velthuis Farms Ltd of Osgoode, Ontario, Canada. Ms Thunderstorm Eternity-ET, exhibited by La Femme Fatale Syndicate of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, was the second-place Winter Yearling Heifer and named Reserve Junior Champion.
Premier Breeder honors went to Oakfield Corners Dairy of Oakfield, New York, and Jim Butler of Chebanse, Illinois was named Premier Exhibitor. Croteau Lesperron Unix-ET was the Premier Sire of the International Holstein Show. In the heifer show, the Premier Exhibitor banner was awarded to Velthuis Farms Ltd., Osgoode, Ontario, Canada while Premier Breeder was presented to Ferme Petitclerc of St. Basile, Quebec, Canada. Premier Sire of the Heifer Show was Brenland Denver.
Placing a total of 508 animals in the International Holstein Show were official judge, Pierre Boulet of Montmagny, Quebec, Canada, and associate judge, Richard Landry of Ste-Brigitte-des-Saults, Quebec, Canada.
