Fired Up at the International Milking Shorthorn Show

MADISON, WIS. – Mountainview TC Fired Up claimed Grand and Senior Champion of the International Milking Shorthorn Show on Thursday, October 2. The winning Five-Year-Old, owned by Emily and Randi Fisher of Pittsfield, N.H., received the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy. Heavenly Zora-ET, the winning Aged Cow owned by Dillon Freeman of Bremen, Ind., followed as Reserve Grand and Reserve Senior Champion.

Lazy M Lars Lucy-EXP, the winning Junior Three-Year-Old owned by Jeremy and Kelsey Kinslow of Smiths Grove, Ky., was crowned as the Intermediate Champion Female. Following Lucy was Pine-Star LM Jitterbug-EXP, owned by Cory & Kristen Salzl and Leah, Jason & Jessica James of Litchfield, Minn., as she was crowned Reserve Intermediate Champion.

The winning Fall Yearling Heifer, Lazy M Money Laundering-ET-P, took home honors of Junior Champion for Elizabeth Gunst and Jamie Gibbs of Hartford, Wis. Reserve Junior Champion was the winning Spring Yearling Heifer, Wincrest P Spring Special-EXP-ET, owned by Dylan and Cameron Ryan and Charlotte Wingert of Fond du Lac, Wis.

Premier Breeder of the International Milking Shorthorn Show was Cory & Kristin Salzl of Corstar Farm, Litchfield, Minn. Colton and Ashley Brandel of Lake Mills, Wis., won the Premier Breeder of the Heifer Show. Hard Core Farm of New Enterprise, Pa., was named Primer Exhibitor, while Peter Vail of Englewood, Fla., claimed Premier Exhibitor of the Heifer Show. Innisfail Mega Lottery-ET was Premier Sire for the second consecutive year, while Top Shelf Pir Liam-EXP was Premier Sire of the Heifer Show.

Official judge, Mike Maier, from Stitzer, Wis., and associate judge, Josh Fairbanks, Anamosa, Iowa, evaluated the 253 head of Milking Shorthorns.
