New York Cow Tops the International Holstein Show

MADISON, Wis. – The Grand Champion of the International Holstein Show, is Lovhill Sidekick Kandy Cane, exhibited by Alicia and Jonathan Lamb of Oakfield, N.Y. Kandy Cane topped the Five-Year-Old Cow Class, before going on to win the James Crowley, Sr. Senior Champion Award and Grand Champion honors. With that title, Kandy Cane takes home the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy. Reserve Grand Champion honors went to the Intermediate Champion and recipient of the Eugene Nelson Award, West-Adub Lambda Sadie, exhibited by Butlerview Farm of Chebanse, Ill.

Reserve Intermediate Champion of the International Holstein Show went to Famipage Legend Barabas, the first place Senior Three-Year-Old, exhibited by Ronald Grandy, Beaverton, Ontario. Reserve Senior Champion honors went to Eixdale Pwrup Alongside, exhibited by Milk Source Genetics of Kaukauna, Wis.

Junior Champion of the International Holstein Show honors went to the winning Winter Yearling, Echo Glen Master Ivy, owned by Ronald Grandy, Beaverton, Ontario. Ivy is receiving the Norman E. Magnussen Memorial Junior Champion award and a $500 Junior Champion Cash Award presented by Cargill Animal Nutrition. The top Summer Yearling, Jolipre Master Angel, took home the title of Reserve Junior Champion, owned by Joel Lepage of Amqui, Quebec.

Premier Breeder honors went to Ferme Jacobs of Cap-Sante, Quebec. Premier Exhibitor honors went to Butlerview Farm of Chebanse, Ill. GenoSource, of Blairtown, Iowa, is the Premier Breeder of the Heifer Show. Reyncrest Farm, of Corfu, N.Y., is named the Premier Exhibitor of the Heifer Show. The Premier Sire of the International Holstein Show was Farnear Delta Lambda-ET, while Golden-Oaks Master-ET is the Premier Sire of the Heifer Show.

Official judge, Aaron Eaton of Mariette, N.Y., and associate judge, Pat Lundy of Granville, N.Y., evaluated the 468 entries.
